Our practice
About our dental practice in Polokwane
We're Dr Mohammed Khan Patel and Dr Yasmine Mahomed. Our dental practice has been based in Polokwane since 1997. We offer a range of dental treatments, with a special interest in children's dentistry and root canal treatment.
Who we are
We're the two dentists behind this practice — Dr Mohammed Khan Patel and Dr Yasmine Mahomed. The practice carries both our names, and it's built around the two of us rather than a single practitioner.
The practice itself has been part of dental care in Polokwane since 1997. That history belongs to the practice; it isn't a claim that each of us has personally worked here since that year. If you'd like to know who you'll see for your appointment, we're happy to confirm that when you enquire.
Our practice in Polokwane
We've been based in Polokwane since 1997, offering dental care to the city and the communities around it. Over more than two decades in one place, the practice has become a familiar part of dental care in the area.
We work from established, well-equipped surgeries, set up to carry out a range of treatments under one roof — from routine preventive care through to restorative, tooth-replacement and alignment options. Appointments are held at the practice in Polokwane, and we welcome patients from across the city and the surrounding areas.

Our special interests
We have a special interest in two areas of dental care: paediatric dentistry and endodontics. A special interest means we pay particular attention to these areas within the broader range of treatments we offer — it isn't a specialist registration.
Paediatric dentistry is dental care focused on children — from the arrival of the first teeth through the development of the adult bite. Our interest here is in helping children become comfortable with dental care and managing problems early.
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry that includes root canal treatment — care aimed at preserving a tooth when the inner tissue is affected, rather than removing it. Our interest here reflects a focus on keeping natural teeth where it's sensible to do so.
